Some of the best freeriders and mogul skiers in the world right now are from Åre. It’s always been about skiing, and it’s always been about style here. Not much is known about this photograph, but the man in front is obviously of some prominence, or at least he thinks so himself. They are most certainly tourists. The building in the background is the old Grand Hotel (today Sporthotellet), built in 1911. &lt;p&gt;Sheraton was a Vancouver photographer. He was born in Hull, England and immigrated to Canada in 1910.  After arriving in Canada the Sheraton family settled near Calgary, Alberta. Sheraton served with the Royal Canadian Navy from July 1942 to November 1945. He married Eileen Margaret Wood of Edmonton, Alberta, on April 15, 1944 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The young couple moved to Vancouver shortly after and had one son, Donald Frederick Sheraton on August 29, 1946.&lt;br/&gt;Leslie’s professional life was in sales and he was co-owner of a photographic supply shop in Vancouver. He was an avid and accomplished photographer and photographed sites in British Columbia, Alberta, California, Nevada, and Hawaii on regular travels with his family.
